Prof. Angshul Majumdar

Research and Education
Angshul Majumdar did his PhD from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2012; prior to that he completed his Master’s from UBC in 2009. From 2012 to 2023, he has been associated with Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi. Angshul completed his Bachelor’s degree from Bengal Engineering and Science University (formerly Bengal Engineering College), Shibpur in 2005. After his undergraduate degree, he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers for two years. Angshul’s current research interests are in signal processing and machine learning with applications in bioinformatics, remote sensing, energy analytics, etc.
Professional Activities
Angshul is currently serving (2022-24) as the Director of Student Services at IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS). Prior to that he has served as a member-at-large for IEEE SPS membership board (2020), Chair of Education Committee (2019) and Chair of Chapter’s Committee (2016-18). He is serving as an associate editor for Elsevier Neurocomputing and IEEE Open Journal of Signal Processing. He has been an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology. Angshul is currently serving in EURASIP’s Technical Advisory Committee on Signal and Data Analytics for Machine Learning. He has been serving as a research advisor to TCS Innovation Labs since January, 2017.
Publications
Angshul has co-authored more than 250 articles in top tier journals and conferences. He has authored two books and co-edited two more. He is the co-inventor of 7 US patents. Angshul has consistently featured in Stanford’s list of 2% AI researchers in the world since its inaugural issue in 2020.
